Classic Car Insurance — NZ
Classic, vintage and enthusiast vehicles need agreed-value cover and specialist insurers.

Considerations
Classic and vintage vehicles should be insured on an agreed-value basis — market value is hard to establish for older or restored vehicles, and you don't want a depreciation-adjusted payout at total loss.
Specialist insurers (Star Insure, Initio) handle classic / vintage / enthusiast vehicles more accurately than mass-market consumer brands — they're set up for limited-use policies, agreed value, classic-event cover, and parts-availability considerations.
Declare any restorations, modifications, and the vehicle's actual usage pattern (limited annual mileage, club rallies, garaged when not in use). Many classic-vehicle policies require these.
Storage and security conditions often apply — locked garage, immobiliser, etc. Breaching them can affect a theft claim.
